Kforce has a client seeking an Information Security Engineer in Southfield, Michigan (MI).

Duties:

* Performing installation and configuration management of security systems and applications, including: policy assessment and compliance tools, network security appliances and host-based security systems
* Reporting unresolved network security exposures and misuse of resources or noncompliance situations using defined escalation processes
* Developing and maintains documentation of security systems and procedures
* Responding to security incidents and escalating reports security incidents as appropriate
* Monitoring system logs, SIEM tools and network traffic for unusual or suspicious activity and interprets and make recommendations for resolution
* Assisting in coordination of remediation required by audits, and document exceptions as necessary
* Performing system and application vulnerability testing
* Researching threats and vulnerabilities and, where appropriate, take action to mitigate threats and remediate vulnerabilities
* Conducting penetration tests and vulnerability assessments on information systems and infrastructure
* Monitoring security vulnerability information from vendors and third parties
* Assisting in security investigations and compliance reviews, as requested by internal or external auditors
* Monitoring daily or weekly reports and security logs for unusual events
* Assisting in the development of security architecture, policies, principles and standards
* Researching, evaluating, designing, testing, recommending and planning the implementation of new or updated information security technologies
* Bachelor degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Business Administration and/or equivalent security certification (CISSP, SSCP, GIAC, CEH, etc.)
* 7 years of checkpoint firewall engineering, implementation and support experience
* 3 years of implementing and supporting Checkpoint VPN's to multi-vendor termination points
* Checkpoint certification
* Experience managing Checkpoint virtualized firewalls Vsec
* Experience managing security in the cloud (AWS, Azure, or Google)
* Experience managing Checkpoint's identity awareness
* Experience with Checkpoint next gen blades including app/control URL filtering
* Previous experience working in a large Checkpoint environment and managing large complex firewall policies
* Strong knowledge of tcp dump
* Strong knowledge of routing fundamentals
* Knowledge of Security concepts and ability to apply them to business processes (concept of least privilege, concept of locking down, integration/production environments), etc.
* Strong team-oriented interpersonal skills with the ability to effectively interface with a broad range of internal/external contacts and roles, including end users, vendors and IT-business personnel
* Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills
* Ability to work well under stress in emergencies, with the flexibility to handle multiple high-pressure situations simultaneously
* Ability to work proactively and independently
* Strong team-oriented interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively interface with a broad range of internal/external contacts
